Since 2008, the Japan Ophthalmic Instruments Association (JOIA) has been investigating the ophthalmologic examination workflow to promote/publish standardized technical specifications of the output data from ophthalmic examination instruments in cooperation with IHE-J and the Japanese Ophthalmological Society,
JOIA has already published the common technical specifications of output data for several ophthalmic instruments such as refractometers, tonometers, lens meters, fundus cameras, axial-length/cornea-thickness measuring devices and IOL power calculation devices.
JOIA hopes all the member manufacturers to implement these standardized data output specifications to their products.

Common technical specification forms can be downloaded from this Web site. The downloaded files need to be authenticated with designated passwords. Please fill out the application form and send it with an email to the Association Secretariat (E-mail：info(AT)joia.or.jp) to obtain the password.
